Above and Below : I don't like Celebrity locos on layouts but pretty much all of Tysley's 08's were turned out in a special livery during the late 1980's. New Street usually had 08601 or 08604 (in GWR green livery) lurking arround the station so I settled on 08601. The model is a bachmann one with Ultrascale wheels, Brassmasters coupling rods and Hornby bufferbeam pipework. The nameplates were done for me by Colin Craig and I extend my thanks to him for his help.
Above: 08610 is a far more typical example of the class. Construction is much the same as 08601 but this example is fitted with a sound decoder. An article oulining the work was published in Model Railway Journal, issue 166 and can be downloaded from here.
